Why Scrap Stamp Duty? Because it is a tax on aspiration

Stamp Duty is a tax on aspiration. A tax on families trying to upgrade. A tax on older couples trying to downsize.

By scrapping it on family homes, we would unlock over £1 billion in local economic growth, from builders to High Streets.

Only the Conservatives have a plan to make this happen. This is common-sense Conservatism in action:
✅ Rewarding hard work
✅ Boosting small businesses
✅ Backing home ownership

Labour loves to talk about fairness. But how fair is it to tax people simply for moving house?
It’s time to scrap this bad tax.
