The US President suggests that NATO allies will not necessarily be there for the US and playing a peripheral role previously, which is demonstrably untrue; this is despite the US being the only country to invoke Article 5 which resulted in the deaths of many NATO countries’ troops in Afghanistan alongside US forces.
